Getting started. To determine the throwing order everyone throws a two dart splash - throwing two darts at the dartboard at the same time. The throwing order is the highest score to the lowest. If two people throw the same score they have to throw again. The names of the players are written in order across the top of the scoreboard and the numbers 1 through 20 are written down the left side of the board.

Vertical lines are drawn to divide the scoreboard into columns, one for each player. How do you win? Only 1's count in the first round, 2's in the second, etc. After all twenty rounds have been completed whoever has the highest score wins. The second way to win is to hit a Shanghai one dart in the single, one dart in the double and one dart in the triple. The target number for each round is the same as the round number that you are in.

Ex: Round 1 you shoot for 1s, round 2 you should for 2s, all that way up to round Each dart you throw awards its actual point value. So the importance of hitting the target number increases as the rounds go on. For example, in round 1 if you hit three triples, you would be awarded 9 points. In round 10, three triples are worth 90 points. Any dart that lands outside of the current number in play is zero points.

If a player hits a Shanghai, the game is over, and they win. The length of each round will depend on the number of active players. Write the round numbers, 1 through 20, on a column down the left.
