Why do people hate friday by rebecca black

Remember "Friday," the viral music video where a teenage girl named Rebecca Black sings about how much "fun fun fun fun" she's going to have over the weekend? Black, 22, took to Instagram on Monday exactly 9 years since "Friday" was uploaded to open up about the low self-esteem, depression and bullying she dealt with following the release of her widely-ridiculed song. She said she would've like to talk to her younger selves. Black wrote that she wished she could talk to herself at 13, when she was "terribly ashamed of herself and afraid of the world.

Personal favorite: "Bob Dylan" reworks the tune. And while there were some positive comments on the video, they're far outnumbered by digital disses. Even the "Harry Potter"-inspired Lord Voldemort Twitter account , not known for playing nice, chimed in. Others were far more personal and far nastier. Some of the response videos posted on YouTube were profanity-laced tirades taking shots at not only the song, but Black herself.

All that directed at a girl who, according to her page on Ark's website , is a "fun, loving year-old" in eighth grade who's proud of her lead role in her school's production of "Oklahoma! You've made a lot of people really happy Gossip blogger Perez Hilton slammed the song as "HIGHlariously bad," but added that she "looks like a sweet girl" and shouldn't "let the bad reviews get to you too much! And, in the all-publicity-is-good-publicity world of show business, who's to say all the flak the video has taken will be a bad thing for the young singer.
